Email Notifications

The SCF Controls Platform includes built-in email notification capabilities to keep your team informed about important compliance activities.

The platform sends email notifications for the following events:

Overdue AlertsSent when tasks pass their due date
@MentionsNotifies users when mentioned in comments

Email notifications are automatically enabled for all platform users. No configuration is required on your part.

  • Emails are sent from notifications@scfcontrolsplatform.com
  • Notifications are typically delivered within minutes
  • Check your spam folder if you’re not receiving notifications

You can control which notifications you receive:

  1. Click your profile icon in the header
  2. Select Notification Preferences
  3. Toggle notification types on or off
  4. Click Save

In addition to email, notifications appear in the platform:

  1. Click the bell icon in the header
  2. View recent notifications
  3. Click a notification to navigate to the related item
  4. Mark notifications as read

If you’re not receiving email notifications:

  1. Check spam folder — Notifications may be filtered
  2. Verify email address — Ensure your Google account email is correct
  3. Check notification preferences — Ensure notifications are enabled
  4. Contact support — If issues persist, contact support@scfcontrolsplatform.com

  • Keep notification preferences current — Enable only the notifications you need
  • Use @mentions sparingly — Mention team members only when their attention is needed
  • Respond to task assignments — Update task status to reduce follow-up notifications
  • Check the bell icon — Review in-app notifications regularly
  • Educate users — Ensure team members know how to manage their notification preferences
  • Set clear due dates — Reasonable due dates help users prioritise without notification fatigue
  • Use assignments effectively — Assign tasks to specific users rather than leaving unassigned
