Email Notifications
Section titled “Email Notifications”The SCF Controls Platform includes built-in email notification capabilities to keep your team informed about important compliance activities.
Notification Types
Section titled “Notification Types”The platform sends email notifications for the following events:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| User Invitations | Sent when inviting users to join an organisation |
| Task Assignment | Notifies users when assigned to controls or tasks |
| Due Reminders | Sent before task due dates |
| Overdue Alerts | Sent when tasks pass their due date |
| @Mentions | Notifies users when mentioned in comments |
How Notifications Work
Section titled “How Notifications Work”Email notifications are automatically enabled for all platform users. No configuration is required on your part.
Notification Delivery
Section titled “Notification Delivery”- Emails are sent from
notifications@scfcontrolsplatform.com - Notifications are typically delivered within minutes
- Check your spam folder if you’re not receiving notifications
Managing Your Notifications
Section titled “Managing Your Notifications”You can control which notifications you receive:
- Click your profile icon in the header
- Select Notification Preferences
- Toggle notification types on or off
- Click Save
Notification Triggers

Comment Notifications

User Notifications

Checking Notification Status
Section titled “Checking Notification Status”In-App Notifications
Section titled “In-App Notifications”In addition to email, notifications appear in the platform:
- Click the bell icon in the header
- View recent notifications
- Click a notification to navigate to the related item
- Mark notifications as read
Email Delivery Issues
Section titled “Email Delivery Issues”If you’re not receiving email notifications:
- Check spam folder — Notifications may be filtered
- Verify email address — Ensure your Google account email is correct
- Check notification preferences — Ensure notifications are enabled
- Contact support — If issues persist, contact support@scfcontrolsplatform.com
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”For Teams
Section titled “For Teams”- Keep notification preferences current — Enable only the notifications you need
- Use @mentions sparingly — Mention team members only when their attention is needed
- Respond to task assignments — Update task status to reduce follow-up notifications
- Check the bell icon — Review in-app notifications regularly
For Administrators
Section titled “For Administrators”- Educate users — Ensure team members know how to manage their notification preferences
- Set clear due dates — Reasonable due dates help users prioritise without notification fatigue
- Use assignments effectively — Assign tasks to specific users rather than leaving unassigned
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Not Receiving Notifications
Section titled “Not Receiving Notifications”| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| No emails at all | Check spam folder, verify email address in profile |
| Missing specific notifications | Check notification preferences |
| Delayed notifications | Platform issue — contact support if persistent |
Too Many Notifications
Section titled “Too Many Notifications”- Review notification preferences
- Disable notification types you don’t need
- Consider consolidating tasks to reduce alert volume
